Inconel625(NO6625) Superalloy Overview
Inconel625 is a solid solution strengthened nickel-based superalloy with molybdenum and niobium as the main strengthening elements. Excellent corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance. Low temperature to 980 ℃ has good tensile and fatigue properties, resistance to stress corrosion in salt spray environment. Therefore, it can be widely used in the manufacture of aero-engine parts, aerospace structural parts and chemical equipment. The alloy has good processing performance and welding performance, and can supply various plates, bars, pipes, wires, strips and forgings.

Variety, specification and supply status: d25-80mm bars, δ0.8-10.5mm plates and d6-40mm seamless (welded) pipes can be supplied. Bars are delivered in a turned or polished state without heat treatment; plates are supplied after solid solution and finishing; pipes are supplied after solid solution and pickling (or bright annealing).
Melting and casting process: the alloy is produced by vacuum induction furnace smelting electroslag remelting or vacuum induction furnace vacuum arc remelting process.
Application overview and special requirements: The alloy has been used in the manufacture of engine casing, guide vanes, mounting edges, cylinder blocks, fuel manifolds and other parts, and has passed practical application tests. The maximum operating temperature is 950 ℃; After long-term use at 550~700 ℃, it has a certain age hardening property that causes the plasticity of the alloy to decrease.

Inconel625 corrosion resistance: The alloy has good corrosion resistance to seawater, as shown in Table 2-2. This alloy is also resistant to corrosion in various salt solutions. In addition, it has good corrosion resistance to nitric acid and phosphoric acid, and also has considerable corrosion resistance to hydrochloric acid and low-concentration sulfuric acid heated below the boiling point.

Microstructure of the Inconel625 alloy: the solid solution state is austenitic matrix and a small amount of tin, NBC and M6C phases. After long-term aging at 650~900 ℃, the precipitated phases are γ ", δ, M23C6 and M6C. After long-term aging at 650~700 ℃, γ" mainly precipitates, which obviously improves the room temperature and high temperature strength of the alloy and slightly decreases the plasticity, but still maintains a high level. After aging at 780~850 ℃, the precipitated phases are mainly γ, δ, M23C6 and M6C, the main precipitation phase of the alloy is δ phase, although the strength is improved, but the plasticity is decreased. After aging at 900 ℃, the precipitation is less, and the mechanical properties are similar to the solid solution state. The δ phase is orthorhombic layered ni3nb, which exists in the form of needle-like Weishi tissue [1,7].
Processing properties and requirements of Inconel625(NO6625) superalloys
● Inconel625 formability
The hot and cold formability of the alloy is good. The ingot forging heating temperature is 1120 ℃, the open forging temperature is not less than 1030 ℃, and the final forging temperature is not less than 930 ℃; during die forging, the final deformation shall not be less than 15%-20%. The rolling heating temperature is 1120~1160 ℃, the starting rolling temperature is not less than 1050 ℃, the rolling stop temperature is not less than 930 ℃, the deformation of semi-finished products is 25% ~ 30%, and the deformation of finished products is not less than 30%. The quenching temperature of intermediate products and finished products is 1100 ℃ ± 10 ℃[1,8].
● Inconel625 welding performance
The alloy has good weldability. It can be used for argon arc welding with tungsten electrode or alloy as filler in protective atmosphere, and can also be used for brazing connection and resistance seam welding.
● Inconel625 parts heat treatment process
Stress relief: 900 ℃; Annealing: 930~1040 ℃,1H; Solution treatment: 1090~1200 ℃, air cooling or water cooling. When the alloy is operated at 650°C, hot rolled, cold rolled or annealed materials can be used as required. When the working temperature is higher than 650 ℃, the parts with better fatigue performance and tensile strength can be annealed, and the parts with better creep and durability can be treated with solid solution.
● The surface treatment process of the Inconel625 is: first use alkali to remove the oxide scale on the surface of the alloy, and then pickle in nitric acid-hydrofluoric acid-aqueous solution.
Inconel625 machining and grinding performance
Carbide or high speed steel tools shall be used. The tool used should have a positive front angle. It is recommended to use water-based coolant for high-speed cutting and viscous coolant for low-speed cutting.
