    Hastelloy B is a nickel-based high-temperature alloy composed of nickel, molybdenum, cobalt and other elements. The nickel content of Hastelloy B is about 62%. Hastelloy B is widely used in chemical, petrochemical, energy manufacturing and pollution control fields, especially in sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, acetic acid and other industries.

    Mechanical Properties of Hastelloy B

    The tensile strength of Hastelloy B is Rmn/mm² ≧ 690.

    The yield strength of Hastelloy B is rp0.2n/mm² ≥ 310.

    Elongation of Hastelloy B: a5%≥ 40.

     

    Hastelloy B has the following characteristics

    By controlling the minimum content of Fe and Cr, the formation of Ni4Mo in the β phase can be prevented.

    Excellent corrosion resistance to reducing environments.

    It has good resistance to moderate concentrations of sulfuric acid and many non-oxidizing acids.

    Good resistance to chloride reduction stress corrosion cracking (SCC).

    Excellent resistance to various organic acid corrosion.

     

    Microstructure of Hastelloy B

    Hastelloy B has a face-centered cubic lattice structure. At 700~870 ℃, by controlling the content of Fe and Cr, the processing brittleness is reduced and the precipitation of Ni4Mo phase is prevented.

     

    Corrosion Resistance of Hastelloy B

    The carbon and silicon content of Hastelloy B is very low, which reduces the precipitation of carbon and other impurity phases in the HAZ. Therefore, the weld of Hastelloy B has sufficient corrosion resistance. Hastelloy B- 2 has good corrosion resistance in reducing media such as hydrochloric acid solution at different temperatures and concentrations. In the concentration of sulfuric acid solution (or containing a certain amount of chloride ion) also has good corrosion resistance. Can also be used in acetic acid and phosphoric acid environment. Only in the pure state, the corrosion resistance of the alloy can reach the best.
